1. Google Cloud's API Gateway learns to stream

   Gateways no longer have to hold a whole request or response before passing it on. In public preview, they can stream data as it arrives over HTTP/2 or chunked HTTP/1.1, Server-Sent Events, WebSockets and gRPC streams: the way chat-style AI answers arrive word by word.

2. Anthropic releases Claude Sonnet 5.5

   The new model runs more than 30% faster than Sonnet 5 and costs up to 30% less for most work, at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. LLM APIs charge per token for inference, so a cheaper task is felt by everything built on top.
